Was just reading over this as I am thinking of re-trimming the carpet on my door trims.

I'll take some photos while I'm doing it since all of these ones are dead.

i found the best way to remove the vents was with a flat head screwdriver just ease out the edge closest to the door trim about 1cm the pop the other side and it slides right out

The red clip is fairy easy to take out you just gotta improvise I found using a flat head screwdriver it popped out in a breeze.. I just bought a vr exec wagon and I have to say its the easiest car I've done so far in terms of installing headunit and front speakers. I tried the shirt behind the clip on the handle just for kicks can't believe it actually works lol
