bad alloytec rattle only at 3000rpm+

Yeah but presumably they are still bolted on with flanges. Soon see if they are buggered once they are off the vehicle.

bad alloytec rattle only at 3000rpm+

Pull the cat off and have a look at it. You will soon know if it's buggered.

bad alloytec rattle only at 3000rpm+

Best advice I can give you, buy nothing until it's properly diagnosed. Also replace those buggered bits in the engine bay that you know are shot before worrying about other stuff. That should keep you busy for a few hours.

bad alloytec rattle only at 3000rpm+

Don't you work in a garage? Why not slip it on the hoist and get the boss to give his opinion?

bad alloytec rattle only at 3000rpm+

Repco sell quality O2 sensors. EBay sell rubbish O2 sensors. Now you have to pay twice unfortunately.

bad alloytec rattle only at 3000rpm+

If you have a blown cat on a VE I'd say you would have errors on your dash. Even an aftermarket cat has to be tuned in on a VE or it throws a hissy.

    Joke of the Day

An Arizona Highway Patrol officer stops a Harley rider for traveling faster than the posted speed limit: He asks the old biker his name. “Fred.” He replies. “Fred what?” The officer asks. “Just Fred.” The old man responds. The officer is in a good mood, thinks he might just give the old biker a...

Things That Leave you Gobsmacked (In A Good Way)

I love the old Gen IIs. As cursed as my VR was I do think about it sometimes and wonder if I could have ever solved that issue with the TPS. Plus never seeing it get the Raptor fitted that's another regret. So close yet so far away. I sometimes look up the rego and find out that someone is still...

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

Yeah for some reason I am feeling really stressed ATM and have been for a week or two. While this is somewhat normal for me, this is next level. Been a while since I have been awake until early hours before I finally drop off but this week and last week have been worse than normal for no sleep...

    The Random Thread

I wear a textile jacket, plus a large vest over that, heated gloves as my bike doesn't have heated grips, and over my jeans I wear wet weather pants to help stop the draft coming through my jeans. The biggest issue I have is my visor fogging up when riding slow even with the vents open. Really...

About to go throw an ice coffee in my gear sack for work tomorrow. Now the weather has cooled down it doesn't need to go in a fridge. Even my water bottle at room temp now will be chilled nice and cold by the time I leave for work in the morning.

Hahaha, just found my old Rossi riding boots in a tub in the shed. Yep as I thought the left sole is starting to come away slightly in two spots. Just lubed the zips with some silicone spray. Now to see Mr Minute and get that sole fixed. Then I can bin the RJAYS that are probably pleather and...

Things That Leave you Gobsmacked (In A Good Way)

We're supposed to be getting something called the NBN, I think it is?, in the next 10 years. I don't know why the Gov is spending all that money when dial up works just fine.

    The Random Thread

I don't remember chucking out my Rossi riding boots so they could still be in the shed somewhere. With the quality of what's out there now, if they turn up it might pay for me to get the sole glued back on, rather than opt for a Chinese pair that will be rubbish after six months on the bike.

I have a three year old pair of Blunni slip on boots non-safety and they are still going great, except they get smelly in the summer. Just too cold to ride with down here in the winter.

    The Random Thread

Been watching a pair of Rossi motorbike books on Marketplace. They were listed at $110 and have been listed for weeks. I was expecting the to come down to $50 and I'd go have a look. Well, bugger me, they sold tonight. No idea what for, but far out they were only $120 new last time I looked...

2011 VE SSV Pierced Oil Sump/Pan

Why would it explode, this is not normal for an LS, even stock they handle a fair amount. The PO has caused this and unless you know what he did for it to blow I wouldn't start thinking this is common.

    Recommended cam

Can't offer much advice on cams etc, but don't use Crow springs, if you are considering them they are well known for snapping when you go above standard lift.

Losh's latest, 955 Triumph Sprint ST

Yeah been riding on the road since I was 19, now nearly 53. Back then no such thing as heated gloves. Warm textile jackets weren't a thing and nothing beat leather. Now I can ride in "relative" comfort and yeah don't have to ride in rain anymore unless by choice. Don't push the Sprint as its a...

    VR Commodore ecotec swap

If OP was near me, I know a Holden Wrecker who can't get rid of Buicks, as no one wants them. He told me he'd let it go for $100 as he was sick of tripping over it.
