    Fairly common if they had not had headlight relay kit fitted...we've had more than 10 of them in family but this is first one I've owned with melted fusebox & trashed wiring....this is my fourth or fifth definitely will be the last vk I build & own.

    Vk wiring harness....they have brown wires that are also earths mixed in with brown that are not earth wires. Diagrams are in black & white....wiring goes round & round through harness just to end up at joiner with 5 other same coloured wires. The damaged & bodgey wiring by previous owners...

    If youre building decent engine & want extractors you'll need vl p/steer intermediate & vn rack...astra pump worth looking at. If stock or mild could get away with factory tubular hsv or calais steel headers & stay with earlier k frame & chunky p/steer.

    Even if bottom end shows wear as long as not tragic should get away with hone,hand linish crank...make sure remove ridges top of bores so pistons dont get damaged. Hopefully ring lands still in spec not damaged. One thing would get reco'd would be the heads as 400k for sure seats be pounded...

    Check they actually have submersible hose in stock....there was a major shortage of it for long period time that I had to reuse whatever 2nd pieces could find when did vp ute & another car.

    Have heard of people attaching return hose to feed pipe so it returns fuel from top. Never done it but think that is how one of them are setup from factory looking at rare spares reproductions. Other options are radiator mob to cut open & weld back together or get removable bulkhead fitted...

    obd1 is like commodore64 to a new laptop. Most likely scanner could not link to something archaic prooobably obd2 onwards like most scanners. If you've ever looked up all fault codes you're underestimating power of the paper clip & google or forum search lol

    You'd need to do more investigating as one pic doesn't show much tbh. Flat diff flange usually means borgwarner. 3.45 gears & if wheels still inside wheel arch could be vl wagon diff (stud for shock absorber) but then look at brakes & axle splines Could also be vn to vs wagon as they're wider...

    That is how any decent shop is meant to do it even after they have checked measurements it's still up us to double check it & send it back if find something wrong. It is worth paying bit extra to get correct job done first time only one trip instead of five or they act like you're wrong lol

    Torrie was mini-tubbed,coilover & big 330mm brakes over 20 years ago was also my first efi v8 conversion. Needs rear screen section,outer sills both sides & inner sill +floor plan....had very minor rust when got it 30 years ago she held up well untill I left in storagage for years not even...

    Probably similar power I just prefer to say it had 450hp as it felt slow to me for all good parts it had in it. Had several issues when I bought it & by the time finally got it going really well rear main seal was stuffed.

    Yep red statesman block. If it is a number job on a walkie block you'd need to see if it has 4 bolt main caps & measure lifter bores bigger than stock iirc.....if it is real deal keep walking as shonky as shite for a couple of reasons.

    Take a pic of diff flage & diff cover plate....might still have v8 salisbury in it if it was a factory v8 car. Salisbury would have 28 spline axles,u bolts in diff flange & fairly sure diff plate would have different gasket/bolt pattern to borgwarner. Cars are that old everything could have...

    Looks like good stuff...I'd be paranoid too it might come off if block prep wasn't 110% but I've never used or seen it in person tbh. Wonder if it would would underneath banana intake help heatsoak a little bit...used to see metal cones under intake manifold of early 308s but nothing aftermarket.

    28 spline axles if using factory lsd or knockoff truetrac...think it only comes 28 spline. 31 spline and spool or genuine truetrac as axles cost same.

    Might just be mongrel of job if you dont drop rack & lift engine to past rack or might need to grind or bash some bits in to fit better...some brands need to fit with eng/trans out of car
