JC Political Thread - For All Things Political Part 2

I think you mean the privately owned electricity companies. It is an election bribe for the upcoming election, which Albo and Co will deny is going to happen before the Sept '25 expiration date.

Things That Leave you Gobsmacked (In A Good Way)

No. I was not relating a "friend's" experience. No real need to seek out past knockbacks. Everybody that I went to school with, their newly adult ambition was to 'get out of town', and so we were spread far and wide across QLD, a lot joined the Army and the RAAF ............ 'cos Queen and...

Things That Leave you Gobsmacked (In A Good Way)

Do it, and let us know the result. You could get lucky. Not as if you are asking your primary school would-be wet- dream sweetheart on a date, out of the blue after XX years. ( No, I haven't done that, wouldn't know where to look, or try, but a bit too 'stalker weird'. )

Everybody to get $300 'help' with paying their electricity bill. :) That's about 82c per day. :( What a waste of our tax money that we pay. Oh well, it will help with the 'cost of living' crisis. Going to look at buying an EV next week, as it just got cheaper to run by 82c per...

Thread for pic of the day quotes.

Cheating ......... Video of the day by @Fu Manchu Currently our Liquid Amber trees are shedding leaves and seeds, and daily we get about 2 dozen Rainbow Lorikeets in the front yard. Happens every year, and they happily share it with the Galahs and Magpies that wander around at the same time...

Psst. Wanna see a VE W427 Coupe?

Mobile porn ............ you must have finished, I didn't see you. Years ago, I saw photos of a Coupe60 being built somewhere at Lake Macquarie, (Cardiff ?), suburb of Newcastle. Not a 2 door VE, but a replica Coupe60. The body looked to be finished, and it seemed to be all...

What did you do in the shed or garage today

So, during the last week I have been re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, under supervision, and found stuff that I knew I had but couldn't find, and stuff I didn't remember having. Not finished yet. About a month ago, I bought an unpainted sheet metal Rory / Holden badge about 450mm in...

    WAR is getting Close.

Is that the same as 2 packets for the price of 1 packet, or double the price of 1 packet, then discount it by 50%, or just belief in the promotional sticker price.. I suppose when this coming war gets here, we will be queuing up for a candle, a dry SAO and a picture of a can of Diet Coke. :(

what did you do to your car today?

Rear suspension had all the bushes replaced 10 years ago at 60Km. That was $1,100 and they do have to drop the whole lot, sorta like doing a VE fuel tank (?) I had words with the Ford dealer about my dissatisfaction that all the OEM bushes were stuffed on a SUV that was designed for Australian...

what did you do to your car today?

^^^^^ ........ further to that work required............the inspection took about an hour to complete, and I was with the mech as he was poking and prodding, and agreed with his findings, some of which were pretty obvious when all the wheels are hanging like a rams nuts. Makes me wonder about...

what did you do to your car today?

Got a quote today to fix some suspension niggles on the 15 year old Territory. $2,400 ..... wipe the eyes  Yes, it is Pedders, but I have dealt with them before, and have no complaints, and it is 10 years and 90Km since any work was done, including wheel alignments. Yes, I know that a lot...

I haven't read it the full story either, but 'they' have to blame some-one. It is tradition to blame someone when perhaps road conditions are not as they should be, and physics overcome rational caution. This thread prompted me to look at a replacement V2 Monaro front bar ......... $605, or nearly $2,000. Quite a price range variation. Hopefully I won't have to use the one in the roof of my garage, that only has a few paint scrapes from a P plater who didn't know where his car dimension...

NSW rules.......... Lane filtering is where a motorcycle rider moves past stopped or slow-moving vehicles at 30km/h or less. Lane filtering is legal in NSW. Lane splitting is where a motorcycle rider moves past vehicles at more than 30km/h. Lane splitting is illegal in NSW.

Calling on the Shannons (or similar) insured V8 crew, can I have a price check please.

Also depends on where you live. Some postcodes are considered hotbeds of thieves and destruction, and priced accordingly. My Shannons premiums took a roughly 25% hike last year, but the agreed values didn't change. This year I am expecting a 25% drop in values and a negligible premium rise.
