i started to get a bit annoyed with that lag part at the start of the throttle in my v6 so i decided to give a throttle controller a go because i have one in my colorado and that works well.

i got one from mace which is the idrive evc525 but you can buy it elsewhere.

it has done a pretty good job on removing that lag feeling on the pedal when you first push it to take off and with sports mode permanently on in my zb it seems to work really well.

the zb has a neat mounting spot for it too.

Hi Stooge,
Did you have to remove the console to mount or could you just drill a hole through the back of the console.
Is there any issue with that?

there is a hole above the accessory socket that goes into the void behind the console and you can reach the wire with your hand from the drivers side footwell so you dont need to modify/remove anything.

OK I got the plug off, but the EVC525L doesn't fit my Calais V :( The plugs kinda look the same, but the guide(?) is offset on my plug.

ZB plug: https://photos.app.goo.gl/FSewJA9NVCcP1Asx7
EVC525L plug: https://photos.app.goo.gl/MuRY2DoD4c8uW9wr9

The Ultimate9 website states the 525L is the right unit :(

https://www.efihardware.com/products/3012/6-pin-vf-commodore-throttle-pedal-connector also looks the same as the EVC525L - suggesting that my pedal has a different plug to what EVC expect.

have you have unplugged the wrong plug?
in the pic the red circle is the one you have unplugged?

the green circle is the one the evc connects to.

Just wondering if anyone here has one installed in the 2l turbo? I fully understand that throttle boosters are for trying to bridge/remove throttle lag but curious it hear from anyone if it's worthwhile on the 2lT vs the V6?
Also wondering if the model evc525 fits both the V6 and 2lT

Cheers!

Thanks, I appreciate it that info!
I had a different brand installed in a 3.5 v6 Toyota automatic I know that really changed how the car felt to drive which was great. Hopefully I can hear from someone who has one installed in a 2L now!
