i started to get a bit annoyed with that lag part at the start of the throttle in my v6 so i decided to give a throttle controller a go because i have one in my colorado and that works well.
i got one from mace which is the idrive evc525 but you can buy it elsewhere.
it has done a pretty good job on removing that lag feeling on the pedal when you first push it to take off and with sports mode permanently on in my zb it seems to work really well.
the zb has a neat mounting spot for it too.

EVC THROTTLE CONTROLLER TO SUIT HOLDEN COMMODORE VF ZB ALLOYTEC SIDI LGX LWR LFX LFW 3.0L 3.6L V6
Modern vehicles rely on 'fly by wire' throttle technology to measure pedal pressure & position to send signals to the engine's computer and convert it to acceleration. EVC throttle controller reduces the lag and improves response to make the acceleration feel more responsive.
