Well as it turns out, my blower is making screeching noises , like dry bearing sounds when I start it.
The oil is ok.

So this hurries up my new build.

Ordering the turbos now.

Waiting to hear back from baz on the gates use, then will be ordering them.
So it's really time to sell my turbo ute, it's come up pretty nice, I put decent springs in the back of it, so it's not sitting on the ground any longer and ripping the exhaust off.
just spewing I never got to get times down the 1/4 mile with 305 rwhp....

Take it to the track with for sale written on it. Could work a treat.

So had to go pick up the wagon today

1653053291423.png

Yesterday I took it for a run down to see my mum.

On the way back on the highway in the very slow traffic, it started to overheat.

when the traffic free'd up, temp went down.

I had to turn off the highway to get out of that traffic to try to cool it down.

It started missing, and it wasn't cooling

Pulled over and it stopped and wouldn't start again.

After letting it cool, it started, didn't lose any water.

but was still missing.

So I left it and got a lift home.

Went back and got it today, it started perfect, runs smooth, drove it home like nothing was wrong.

Hasn't lost a drop of water, normally would think it's a head gasket or valley gasket.

I've really got no idea what's wrong with it.

It's not fuel, that's not going to make it overheat.

Not electronic, that's not going to make it overheat.

Hasn't lost any water whatsoever.

it's not leaking coolant.

Anyone got any ideas?

Overheating on the highway usually points to radiator capacity. Ie it's partially blocked.

If it was fine on the highway but high around town it would be a fan/shroud issue.

Run your AC when you're in traffic, the high speed fan will keep it in check whilst you teoubleshoot it.

Check your fan relay, where they push in can burn out and can make the fan have problems kicking in.

I too would suggest looking at the thermo fan re: overheating in traffic.

Heat can effect electronics, ignition system or maybe vapor lock type scenario in the fuel system. Stop it getting hot and problem fixed :)

The other issue I have with these is the fact the factory tune doesn't turn on the low speed thermofan until 104°C when the normal operating temp is 92°C. As others have mentioned, having the AC on will keep the thermofan running as it is used to keep air flowing over the condenser which also helps keep the engine cooler too.
