VQ Tail Light - Modify VN Calais

VQ tail lights. with the single stripe, are getting increasingly hard to find in good condition.
Has anybody modified VN Calais tail lights to remove the extra stripes ? These are available as new replica parts on ebay:

I brought a set like that without the stripes for me VQ a few years ago. Probably made by the same mob. They were around that price too.

The seller advised that he has no VQ Statesman tail lights in stock. I'll see what's involved in removing the excess stripes from the Calais lights.

Has anyone used a professional pinstriper to paint the silver line on a VP taillight? Wondering what paint to use.

The rib pattern and depth of tinting of a VQ tail light match a VN Berlina. I've ordered a set of new pattern VN Berlina lights and will paint the single stripe on with a paint pen & plastic primer.
Most of the available second hand lights have more scratches & sun damage than the lights I'm replacing.
