Hi there
I have a car that is actually my husbands and I'm trying to sell due to him passing away and honestly I have no ideas about cars.
I had someone come out and look at one of them yesterday and he bought to my attention that the front area of the engine bay was all cut out.... (excuse if I'm not saying things the right way hopefully someone gets an idea of what I mean)
Does anyone know why the previous owner would possibly have done that and also would that affect the sale greatly?

Thankyou

What you have been told is correct. Apart from no engine and gearbox, there is a lot of structural metal missing there which cannot be replaced by bolting on bits and pieces..

Depending on the condition of the rest of the car, it could be suitable for a restoration by putting in replacement panels from the windscreen forward (expensive), or as spare parts for another car from the windscreen back.
Be prepared for some disappointing comments and offers from potential buyers.
