Timing chain replacement - who has also replaced any cogs or gears?

Just wondering what other's experience has been when they've had the timing chains replaced. What condition are the gear/cog teeth in? Do the cogs tend to be good enough to reuse, or do they require replacement as well?

I'm considering buying a Cloyes kit off evilbay, but the 2006 kit doesn't come with gears
