It's funny, today I rang up a landrover wreckers, asked how much for a 200tdi motor and he said he had one out of a disco with 270.000 on it I ask how much, he said $2000 for the motor by its self , get fkd. And on the same day I pick up a whole car for half that, just shows how much wreckers rip you off, for that price I might as well get the izusu diesel.

my mate made a overhead shelf for the landy today, now i have a place to put the uhf, the total cost of it was around $15, i will take it off next week to stain it and put a clear coat over it,

got a horn pad from a series 2, for some reason on the series 3 they moved the horn to the indicator stalk and i dont know why, all the landrovers have them now, anyway relocating the horn to the proper location. and got a fuel sender now too im flasher then ever :smoking:

will be buying some series 2 doors next weekend and it has series 2 hinges, i like them because the door can open all the way 180' unlike the series 3 with there stupid new hinges that crush the a pillar in if opened too far like mine has

so plans have changed, i have a series 3 ex military that i was just about to send to the tip but a mate gave me the idea of building the car on the military chassis. so i took a look at the mililtary chassis and found its in fair zcondition with the only rust really being in the rear crossmber but they make new crossmembers for them anyway.

so im now going to sandblast and maybe galvanized the chassis and build on that. it still has the running gear in it so i can build it up then eventually swap the body and tray over from mine as well with the chassis number, this way i wont be in a rush to get it done and i can still drive my ute around while i do it and i get the advantage of the millitary extended spring hangers which is a decent lift over the normal chassis it is adjustable also. i can start as soon as i get in to my new workshed

i will do this instead of just swapping the diesel over in my ute and it will be easier
