Just Thought id post up my daily for you all to see.
I will be waiting to hear the feedback from fellow members

History of the vehicle is that it was to become a track car but it didn't end up getting that far.
Most of its life it has sat in a work shop collecting dust and moved around.
once in a awhile it would have a few laps, but that's about it.
In the time it had a face lift as you will see.

MAKE: Commodore Executive VT S1 *VY conversion*
YEAR: 1997
KLMS: 75.000 (impressive) books to conferm this.
DRIVE TRAIN: 304 V8
GEAR BOX: 5 speed manual
WHEELS: 20" Verde Madonnas
MODS: DVD H/U. GPS. MACE CAI

Looks good.

The rear wouldnt have been easy, would have cost more than the cars worth to do it if
you paid someone. I'm keen to hear about the conversion too. You would have to cut
out and weld the panels back in from the vt to the vy

I'd be tempted to put vz front on it like mine, but i'm bias.lol

Looks like the arse is from a vz calais?

Looks good anyway, and a lot of fun.

Looks like a lot of work has gone into it & it must have cost a packet to convert. Just by looking at the first 2 photos, you wouldn't have thought it was converted.

Saw this on Facebook last night. I Like it as I'm a fan of the VT-VX interior (I'd covert to the black VXII interior but thats me) but I like the VY exterior. Some of the comments were a bit harsh for what it is.

I'm guessing the comments where along the lines of "why would anyone bother" "Its not an ls1"
"you could have just bought a vy" blah blah blah....

I like it. The vx interior feels a lot more "solid" than the vy/vz i reckon. I also like
the aircon controls better and the dash layout. The transformers style steering wheel
in the vy/vz doesnt do much for me either.

I've always wanted a v8 manual executive. Probably with pirsuit rims on it just for a "fun car"
Nice lsd in it and some upgraded suspension.

Well, you can at least guarantee that there probably aren't any other VYs with a 5L V8 in them. Which is kinda cool.

A lot of morons loudly exclaiming that the VY didn't come with the 5L, not understanding the conversion. then more idiots saying "You can't fit VY tail lights in a VT, because they are incapable of conversions that require actual effort beyond a poorly fitting body kit.

I quite like it oddly enough. I miss the old 308/304's. It would be interesting to know how how the rear conversion was done.

I agree with elless1 about the VZ front.

Gotta love Facebook ... It's where all the mechanical geniuses & experts hangout nowadays

If I owned it, I'd always be popping the bonnet just to see the looks on peoples faces. Imagine some of the questions you'd get asked
