series 2 bumper on series 1

I've made an earlier post about a series 2 front bumper fitting onto a series 1. But Im curious as to what I'll actually need. Went to go pick one up a few weeks ago but the guy said that it won't fit. I was pretty sure it would fit if I got series 2 headlights but hes taken my confidence away. So what will I actually need besides new headlights and new grille?

I think series 1 looks way better.

I was thinking about going from series 2 bumper to series 1 as it looks better would i have to get new lights to stop it from having gap or could you just get the series 1 head light glass to put on it ?
