Replacement Shocks V8 into V6 Calais

Ve Calais V 2009 v6 sidi
Hi peeps I have a ve v6 Calais I pranged it front end I had to replace shocks I put in v8 shocks in is that fine or do I need v6 shocks

Theres no real physical difference between any of the shocks or springs on VEs.

The difference in shocks is only in the damping rates (harsher for sports models like SS and SV6, softer for luxury models like Calais, etc). The difference for springs of course is the ride height (lower for SS, higher for Calais, etc).

There’s no problem in using different shocks or springs provided your fine with the ride quality difference. Advisable to make sure you get a wheel alignment straight away though as changing out shocks and springs changes the wheel geometry and will increase wear substantially if you don’t get it realigned.
