Just after some opinions on cam shafts for my Vr ss

I know next to **** all about any of this stuff just read up on bits and pieces.

I’ve got a standard Vr ss I’m wanting to put a bigger cam in along with the other accessories it needs lifters, valve springs etc, I’ll also do exhaust and bigger converter, I was thinking a 286 but would that be alright with standard compression?

Im not planning on racing or anything so not fussed about trying to make a lot of power just something with a little bit of go and sounds lumpy.

Any advice much appreciated tia

Can't offer much advice on cams etc, but don't use Crow springs, if you are considering them they are well known for snapping when you go above standard lift.

286 will be too big with standard compression etc, go for something smaller if you want it to drive nicely
