Plastic Engine Cover is missing, whats the go with everyone taking them off? is it really a heat issue or what?

I want to get one for it to finish it off, i think it looks ugly without it.





Traps heat, cooks the coils wiring



Ans I would rather see engine parts than plastic covers

I'm not an LS guy but the VX SS is one I'd really like in my shed, they just nailed it styling wise for the time.

Just tried to get a Blue Slip... knocked it back on a few things....

- 2 x tyres smooth on inside. (Got Spare Wheels to Swap)
- Front Parker Lights and Number Plate Light not working. ($5)
- Small Oil Leak, wipe it off and will pass it. ($5 degreaser)
- Radius Bushes has Excessive Movement. ($40 delivered)
- Transmission Mount Broken. ($50 delivered)

I got 14 days to sort it out or i have to pay for another test.

Seems like real small items and hopefully you can get it all done quickly....

I like the Full shell cover .... Gives it that Factory look.... I think some folk leave them off because they break the threaded rods usually cause the stupid spacer inserts often fall out. The trick is to glue the inserts in so they cant fall out .

Quick rinse to get all the dust n dirt off it, with a polish it will look ok (in spots lol). Paint is crap but that's ok for now.
For those that noticed, it has the wrong headlights, there not SS ones.

Ordered the parts i need for Blue Slip from eBay tonight, came to $130 in total, also had to add a new Tail Shaft Coupler to the list.
So not to bad so far, will see how much they charge to do the Radius Bushes tomorrow.

Found some Park Light Bulbs, (T10 i think) so will try to sort the lighting issues out. Also noticed the Light over the Odometer it out as well, will look at it as well.

Swapped 2 x wheels over, do the other two tomorrow, too humid here...

2 x Number Plate bulbs were blown so that was easy, the 2 park light might be more of a headache... new bulbs, if i touch the housing of bulb on the body they work, shorting it out. But not by the switch, it's not the switch as the number plate lights come on on park position. Must be an Earth somewhere.

Got a price to fit Transmission Mount, Tail Shaft Coupler, Do Radius Bushes and degrees motor down of any oils = $350
He will also finish/redo the inspection and pass it as he has done the work.

Got to wait a week fore he can look at it but it will give me time to sort other thing out...
