I know what you mean. I reckon I started with more brain cells than the average person, but over the years I've had that many knocks to the head I think my brain cell count is on par with yoursYep many dead brain cells in there, prob got 3 or 4 left if lucky...
The Medicare Urgent Care clinics are pretty good.Yeah thinking about going to the GP over the hospital, but just out of the shower where I gave a good scrub and I think it's stopped. Had a tetanus about 6 months ago when the bonnet of my work van wirh faulty support arm fell on me head checking the oil. Went to hospital then and spent 5hrs waiting for them to put some stupid glue on it.
The guy at the garage asked if I know any mechanics back in the UK as he wants to buy a few of the machines that are used to split the converters, pressure test em I think he said, and another feature. He has pictures of them all but wants a go between person over there as seems to think he could be shelling out about $20k for em and getting ripped off... I don't but assured him we are decent people, we send all our riff raff here! ... (joking, altho once upon a time) but he said if he can't find someone he'll go over and buy them and get shipped back himself. As we speak they're a pretty disposable unit unless he sends off to old mate to split and fix up, but obv wants to do it himself. The following video shows TC upgrades for 6l80/90 and what the clutch running surface looks like when forked.
The only thing they don’t mention is how much heavier their upgraded forged bits are as compared to the factory stamped bits… and the $$ but I’d assume they aren’t cheap…
Really, the TC covers are ripe for multi metal 3d printing in steel for the clutch running surface and alloy for the cover itself… should be lighter with a lower moment of inertia… just price would be crazy as that’s the stuff of aerospace components
And on a related thought, why are the TC halves welded (=warp inducing) rather than some finger jointed o-ring sealed two half arrangement with a pinned locking ring holding the two parts together? Would make rebuilding so much easier… And on the same note, why isn’t the oil that exits the TC pumped through a screw on oil filter that’s stuck to the side of the trans.
Whatever, it’d be good to see Paul’s recoed TC installed and running true and wobble free behind the engine…
Thanks but its stopped bleeding at last. I know I should go get it looked at but just had a blue with the wife and just wanna be left alone. The Medicare Urgent Care clinics are pretty good.
We used one when the young bloke fractured his elbow back in Jan.
