Can some one tell me how much rim protection or sidewall protruding out at the bead does a Michelin PS4S have?

I tried a new Bridgestone Potenza Sport 295/30x20 on a 20x11 and the large section of rim protection protruding from the sidewall looked like a 305 on a 10" wheel let alone wasting guard clearance, one of the ugliest sidewalls I've seen! The superseded S007A had a nice and reasonably flat sidewall in comparison.

It's a bit hard to tell what the PS4S sidewall looks like in pictures now Bridgestone's out of the question from a visual and clearance standpoint. I'm after a good alternative without a mass of rim protection poking out of the sidewall.

Bit dark here, I'll get you a picture tomorrow but it's about 6-7mm.
Personally don't mind it.

I can say, with quite a lot of experience, the PS4S’s on stock SSVR rims (pretty sure there’s only one relevant size that’s available & fits) offer zero protection from scratches …

Thanks for that. It's got a bit of rim protection but isn't as a bad as the new Bridgestone

Face of the tyre is flatter than some.

I know you have a lot of tyre/rim knowledge so you already know that any photos we offer will also be influenced by the tyre to rim size ratio.

I've posted two photos to try and even out the parallax error but as you can see a 285/30 PS4s on a 10.5 inch rim doesn't offer much protection, I'm guessing I have a 3mm lip at most.

With that small amount of lip the tyre would easily deform enough on impact causing the rim to suffer damage.

It pained me post these photos as it's been raining here and I haven't had time to clean the rims.

Thanks for that panhead much appreciated. I can well relate to posting pics of dirty wheels and seems like a major sin to do so!

Apparently there's a 12 week wait on PS4S 295/30's and I can't physically see one yet. Your 285's are about the same rim protection protrusion as the Bridgestone S007A's I have now that are discontinued.

What's the measurement of the widest part of your tyre in relation to your rear guard, how far outboard does your tyre sit?

With the 20x10.5's at +52 and 295/30's, mine is 10mm (pictured below). With the same tyre on the 20x11 at +52 (same offset) it's 6mm. I worked yours in theory with a 285/30 on a 10.5 at +42 and I'd be a couple of mm inside that I think? I could probably go to +54 on the 11's and don't want to do that after they're painted, clamp them in a milling machine and likely scratch them. I couldn't get the 11 to scrape road testing it yesterday and there's clearance mechanically jacking the tyre up into the wheel well. The camber effect tilting the tyre inwards as the suspension height drops is difficult to measure statically and can vary dynamically on the road. The other pic is the 20x11 fitted on the car and jacked into the wheel well.
