A simple led conversion shouldn't have effected the fan speed controls.
When the control assembly was taken out, may be the plug wasn't put back in properly, or there is a wire loose some where.
Did you do the conversion yourself, or did someone else do it?
May be the control assembly was dropped or damaged during the conversion.
As you may have read in my first post, speeds 1,2 and 3 run through the resister and the 4th speed by passes them and runs directly through the blower relay.
In my opinion, it's very likely the control panel is faulty or a plug isn't in properly.
