Looks like we are next,

The West coast on the South Island is going to take a battering.

Might be part of the same weather system that effected Sydney and Brisbane? Moving down the Tasman.

Looking at our forecast now and I think the rain for Perth will be a less likely thing as time gets nearer.

Forecasters were predicting 500 mm of rain fall over 48 hours for West coast, South Island. Now they're saying close to a meter over 62 hours (already had 250 to 300 mm with slips and road closures). Average April monthly rainfall there is 227 mm.

It’s nearly May and it got to 36° for us at work!

Car also said 36 at school pickup. Bonkers.

Last Fridays storm was biblical. First good rain in 7 months. Then straight back to cloudless skies. 15 overnight and 30 in the day, seemingly every day.

I posted the video of the panno earlier. They caught the change in weather. It was only severe weather in Perth’s north.

It was sunny earlier. We went to IKEA. Had all my tools out in the backyard. Sunny skies. No rain forecast. Come out of ikea and it was looking ominous. Drove home. Rain.
… I covered the tools!! Thank goodness.

We are four weeks out from the shortest day of the year.
The whole week is pretty much 27° in Perth. No rain for the week. It’s getting close today but stopping short of metro.

Right now. Nearly 30° out there! It’s mid May! No cold fronts. No real change in the pattern other than no inland heat coming through. Only a couple of rain events and they were fed by tropical moisture. We are supposed to be getting onshores more, colder days. Cold fronts.
