Update on the '56
Took spark plugs out one by one and dropped some oil in each bore. Put plugs back in and turned it over on the crank handle (borrowed from work) and it felt nice, so keen to introduce a battery to the starter motor next time.
Had a good look underneath and found the transmission cross member is in need of repair, but apart from above the Rh rear spring eyelet, and the obvious front bumper mount, most of the chassis just needs a wire brush and quick lick of paint.
It is stored offsite so progress will be slow for now.

And the work '50 model went on its maiden test drive around the yard on Friday. This highlighted a few issues, but not bad all in all.

You should hang the old one up in the garage as a momento. Should be easy to do. Plenty of holes to use.
I could cut fins back further and seal and keep for a spare.

On the wall obviously. Lol

Worked out drain bung is 1/2" unf. So re-tapped hole (as thread was average but acceptable for plastic bung). Got a grub screw and threw that in with pipe sealant.

Reason being the modified position the radiator sits in means that there isn't actually clearance below it, so need something flush.

Next was some bracket trimming on the RH side

And now it sits with a litre of water in the bottom to confirm it doesn't leak out the drain bung.
I realise things might change under pressure, but we have to start somewhere.
