ya mum!
Just to clarify, it's burnout right? Not a skid. Skidding is when a tyre that's not rotating slides across the road surface (hence it's called anti-skid brakes). Whereas a burnout is when the tyre is rotating on a single spot.

Doesn't concern me so why should it concern others.

Wish my dad had a car that would do a burnout. Sigma's failed badly

Yeap...sorry, was using a bit of slang there.:)

"going out for a skid" could mean taking the car out for a drive up to the shops.
"going to the skids" means heading out to the local drag meet.
"doing a skid" sort of covers tyre rotation in my book.

So the hoon law can have ur car impounded while in use on private property? Wtf..

i as driving by the age of 5 on our block.. I wish everyone had a chance to drive on decent land without worry of hitting or injuring anyone else. Good to learn some skill and practice when things go wrong. i have no issue with this on private land

Learning to control a car that is out of control, in a safe/supervised environment is called advanced driver training/skid pan training. People pay a lot of money to do this (but seems it is illegal as it could be considered "hoon" behaviour).

At the end of the day kids doing this in a controlled environment is a lot better than sneaking dads car out and doing it out the back of some industrial estate.

I see no problem at all, way safer than putting your kid on the footy field or letting them on a motorbike and doing junior motor cross at the age of 5, a guy I know let his son do that and now he doesn't have a son anymore, sad but true
