Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
It’s the boot release. The wiring is there. The body harness also has the boot release and light wiring. It ends at the plug in the right rear wheel well.Found this plug behind a blanking plug on my 2005 crewman anyone know what it's for?
That dosnt make sense for Crewman models tho.Backup boot release button for sedans.
It does because it uses a sedan body harness. It does the job. Why make another part when there is already a perfectly good part on the shelf. The sedan body harness. That dosnt make sense for Crewman models tho.
All I meant was why would they wast money on a wiring loom that can't be utilised. It does because it uses a sedan body harness. It does the job. Why make another part when there is already a perfectly good part on the shelf. The sedan body harness.
The release for the seat base is from a Opel Vectra rear seat release.
B-pillar trims are Opel. Drink holders on up spec models of all commodores VY and VZ are SAAB.
Fuel filler lid is a version of a wagon one.
Rear window is same as any other Ute VU-VZ.
Rear door internals are interchangeable with wagon.
Floor pan is sedan so floor mats etc fit perfect. (Including rear)
Spare wheel mechanism is same since H series.
Tail gate is same as any other Ute VU-VZ.
Bonnet catch dates back to Torana and early VB Commodores. May even have been on HQ.
I’m sure there’s more. Not everything is unique to crewman. It’s a bit of a lot of things.
It makes little sense to design entirely new parts for every aspect of each Commodore. The old GM parts bin is far better to make use of where ever possible.
