Definitely go the 408 as for heads if your planning on fitting a blower down the track I wouldn't waste thousands on heads now as when you put a blower on it will make f all difference. The l98 heads on the motor you have now in your car would be my pick. You may even be able to get a set relatively cheap and sell the ls2 heads. If your set on doing heads a flowed set of the l98 heads will be alot cheaper and still produce good gains for a n/a application.

While you can do 408ci on an LS2 block, you'd be better off doing a 402/403ci. Theres #### all difference in capacity, so #### all difference in potential performance. 402ci is 4.000" bore, 403ci is 4.005" bore (which you'd do on a used block). While I haven't found a limit of my 4.030" bore LS2 block, I only did it because I didn't have a choice. If I had a choice, I'd keep the metal as thick and strong as possible.

I payed $2800, but that included bottom end assembly, bearings, new cam bearings balancing and a melling oil pump, that was all machining, honing, line honing the mains, etc.

I supplied the crank, rods and pistons.

Paid $2,200 to get my 241 heads hand ported, but that was cause i wanted to use my heads, the tottal machining has been my biggest cost.
