It isnt as simple as many people think but yet it is still quit simple.
Some modding is required to make the LED's light up because they have to have the correct polarity.
All the aftermarket ones are reverse of what the holden sunglass holder supply.
So lets start from the beginning, this is the way i have done mine but im not saying there is no other way. i just found this easiest.
Materials
- ~5cm of wire
- Heat shrink or electrical tape
- Wire strippers or side cutters
- Side cutters
- Solder
- Soldering iron
- Phillips screw driver
The LEDs are BA9S, i got mine from ebay
First things first you will need to remove the sunglass holder from the roof.
To do this open the sunglass holder door and you will see 2 phillips screws
Undo the 2 screws then remove the unit from the windscreen side first.
Unplug the unit...
Before we get to the modding lets first replace the globes, to do so remove these 4 screws
Now you will be able to pull away the light holder section and replace the globes, simply push them in, twist then pull them out.
Do the reverse of this to put them in and screw the light holding section part back onto the rest of the unit.
Now the modding, you can see in the picture this is how the polarity is normally
What you need to do is unscrew the 4 screws holding the terminals down, for the positive side just move them into the inner terminal where the negative was previously.
The negative wire you will need to cut and lengthen to make it reach the outer terminals.
This is how i done mine
End result!
Of course you should do the rear as well to make them all match but thats simple no need for a how to
