Hi Guys, can anyone confirm if these two hoses near the filler hose should connect. one is larger than the other one. or has anyone got an image of how it was connected originally as this is how it was when i got the car (VN Commodore)

try it, if you like it keep doing it until you dont. i did it for 10 years and in the end hated it. but it tought me a lot. slaving over a hot engine in summer and smashing your knuckles in winter in 10 degree weather. now i can play around with cars as a hobbie and loving it.... but not full time

hey mate thanks for the advice. if its the dampener leaking its definitely coming out, doesnt work anyway, heaps of pulsatation in the line at engine bay end anyways, cheers

couldnt really get under the car to see but from looking at this image i might wait till it dries and run it and make sure its not starting from the pump end

na its not the fuel filter. looks like some sort of fuel regulator with an adjustable screw on the top

Hi Guys, whats the name of the regulator looking thing that is down the back end of a VN V8. Just after the external fuel pump the fuel hose goes from pump to regulator looking thing. mine is leaking fuel

yeah this car is messed up. all of the plugs were disconnected from the tail lights to the wipers and headlights, bloody auction cars, plugged them in and a new alternator, battery, few fuses and relays later most has come good. still a bit of dodgy wiring around the engine bay fuse box to...

Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. just pulled out the glove box switch and it wasnt plugged in. just check the alternator and its only putting out less than one volt so will get one organised. but still with the car running i would have thought it would have had enough power from the battery for...

just run the test light over them, all good, but found ignition relay removed. put fan relay in the ignition relay spot to test but still no go. the car actually starts and runs but dont have any lights, indicators, instrument cluster, stop lights, heater fan, nothing working

hi guys, just picked up my 1990 vn ss today. battery not charging, dropped a new battery in it and the engine is running there are no headlights, dash lights, indiators etc etc, nothing in the cabin is working, no charge light while running, thinking its the alternator ?
