    VR Memcal Remove Error Code

I am getting error 24 VSS vehicle speed sensor error because I have a gearbox with a 2 wire reluctor and the computer wants a 3 wire hall effect sender. So I just want the fault code removed from the memcal. I have a Mace memcal and I have messaged Steve from Mace but no reply. Probably don't...

I just had an idiotic idea and would like confirmation that I am an idiot...

Just quietly, don't get the china ones, they break and are not well made. Go with the US ones, they last much better.

    VR Wiring for Hot Rod

It is the aircon wire. I traced it to the plug and to the V6 Conversions plug where it went. Only problem was it was at the plug but didn't come out anywhere! So I rang them and it just goes into their loom and loops back out. Just to satisfy the computer apparently. Just cut the 10 wire plug...

    VR Wiring for Hot Rod

Don't think it had aircon. I traced it to the oblong plug with 8 connectors and 7 used. Not sure where that plug goes. But that plug does plug into my V6 Conversions loom, so I'll trace it through there tomorrow. Thanks.

    VR Wiring for Hot Rod

This is a real pain as my pics are too large and on my phone it is fiddly to reduce the size. It is why I have not posted them before. The Admins of the site should do what other sires do and process the uploads to automatically reduce the size. I will have a go at it later.

    VR Wiring for Hot Rod

I have a v6 in a hot rod. I removed the old wiring without paying too much attention. I bought a V6 Conversions loom and then found out I need most of the existing wiring. I am stumped by the green wire that is near the coil pack plug. It has a female bullet connector. I didn't even realise that...

[General] [Buick]"How To" bypass hose and inlet manifold bung

Thanks mate been busy, but I will get there. Just a quick question, I have fitted a double row timing chain and I have a new style tensioner but it does not fit. I saw somewhere that the double row chain does not need a tensioner. Is this correct? If so I can leave it off, engine getting...

[General] [Buick]"How To" bypass hose and inlet manifold bung

Thanks for your help mate. Be interesting to get it up and running. I have removed the balance shaft and put in a double row chain. It is going in a 1927 Ford T Tourer. I used the T5 and the VR Wagon diff.

[General] [Buick]"How To" bypass hose and inlet manifold bung

So leave in the little elbow pipe at the front of the manifold to water pump and block the rear? So that leaves the 2 heater pipes blocked. Sounds good And thanks for the reply.

[General] [Buick]"How To" bypass hose and inlet manifold bung

Old thread but someone here may be able to help. I have an early VR V6 that I am putting in a Hot Rod and don't need a heater. So I have removed the steel tube from the timing cover and will block it. The question is about the other heater connection that I believe exits the rear if the inlet...

    Replacement sump

Yes, I expect there may be some work to do on the baffles, oil pickup and also oil dip stick. The usa sump that has the deepest part of the sump at the front is the 264-141. The drain plug on this one is metric too. You can see it here...

    Replacement sump

The engine was from a VR Wagon, 3800 so I think it is the L27. Same as Buick 231?

    Replacement sump

Yes Shane that would be great. My daughter has a VY auto and I was going to have a look at that. I will pull my sump off today and have a further look at that bracket. And yes, most bellhousings I have seen only have bolts around the top half anyway. Thanks heaps mate.

    Replacement sump

Hi, I am building a hot rod and using a VR V6 with T5 box. I would like to replace the sump with something a little prettier. The Buick 231 V6 sump from the States looks like it will fit the bolt pattern but I'm worried about the frame that seems to be connected to the manual bellhousing from...

How long can I drive with an over heated engine?

If as you say there is coolant under the car at times then I would say head gasket or a cracked head. Get one of your 2 mechanics to do a compression check.

    VR Commodore Installation Angle

Hi, new around here but thought you's maybe able to help. Just installing a VR v6 3800 in a hot rod and was wondering what the angle of the top of the engine is when the car is on level ground? Measure on the ally bit with 3800 on it. Thanks Clem.

    LS engine for Street Rod

Hi Andrew thanks for the reply. I can't see any link in you sig? Maybe not looking in the right place. I have done a little research but have yet to figure out the differences of the different engines. So all these "L76, L98, L77, (later) LS2, LS3 and even LS7" are basically the same engine and...

    LS engine for Street Rod

Hi I am new around here. Just been looking at getting an engine for my 32 Ford Rod. Considering a 6l so I have been looking at 2006 Commodore V8 auto and later. My question is about what engines are avaliable and the code for these on the vin. I know nothing about these engines but am looking to...
