    Is VY Supercharger S good?

If you are wanting to get big power from a V6, then the supercharged engine is the way to go!!! ;)

Super charger kits for 3.8 v6's

CRS kits dont have much potential going for them boost wise. 5-6psi with a pulley upgrade. The 1ggze (CRS) is a bit undersized for a 3.8L engine, and you have to spin them much faster than normal to get them to make any boost. I think if it's spun at twice the normal speed then the teflon rips...

Should I buy a VT Senator 5.7 with a Vortech blower or not ?

I reckon if u want to rest easy and not have to worry about blowing your engine, then you should whack a cooler on it first. And then go and chuck it on a dyno for us!!!

    Exhaust Systems and Extractors

These are the three that i would recommend... Exhaust Dynamics Exhaust Torque Custom Exhaust Specialists However, you should note that usually you will have to pay more for a more highly experienced tradesman.

How long do your rotors last for???

Just thought I might mention that I changed all of the rotors to DBA slotted rotors... now its sweet as!!!

How "smooth" should the engine be?

Nah... It's just the big lumpy cam... Right?!?! ;)

    225/60/15 tyres?

I'm running G-Grid 225/60R 15's on mine. I dont think i've ever seen 15" 225's that are larger than 60 anywhere?! I've got a feeling that V6 Vengeance has 225/65 15's on it though.

Blowing a V6 Engine - Best way to do it

It's ok to bolt a blower onto an stock V6 as long as you dont let the boost exceed 10psi. Anything over 10psi will require a rebuild with lower compression pistons and an intercooler or water injection. Powerdyne chargers are pretty good value, and are easy to bolt on as they dont need to tap...

    My Horn Is Busted

It's not that hard to get too!!! You just have to drive it up onto some small ramps, or jack the front up a little (but make sure you put blocks underneath before you stick your head under!!!). I ditched my horn ages ago because i could not stand the pathetic squeak it would put out. So i found...

    More PSI

14 psi is quite high if you are going to use it as a daily driver!!! I would go for something abit more conservative like 12psi. Do you have an intercooler setup yet?? Cos if you dont... then your mad!!! I think you will need 42.5lb injectors too. I'm assuming that you have already had a...

    170kw?? Is it possible???

It might not be possible without a stroker crank, if you plan on going N/A.

How long do your rotors last for???

Yeah... I was having a look into the DBA longlife golds. But forking out the cash to get these is not very convenient right now!!! But then again, i wouldnt want my brakes to wobble off when pulling up to some lights now would I!!!

How long do your rotors last for???

I've finally had enough of the intense shuddering that my car makes whenever I apply my foot on the brakes!!! So, i'm just wondering if it is worth getting my stock VT rotors machined, and if I do get them machined how long will they last untill they become out of shape again?? Or i could just...

I got the aunger CAI too, and i found it didnt fit perfectly as well... but a bit of heat treatment can fix that!!! ;) It cost me $237.

    Exhaust Systems and Extractors

Heres the proper calcs...... The recomended size for a V6 is 2.5". So for a single 2.5" exhaust, the area would be... pi*(2.5/2)^2 = 4.91 inches^2 So for a double 2".... (pi*(2/2)^2)*2 = 6.28 inches^2 As you can see, a twin 2" system is significantly larger than the single 2.5"...

Nice spotting with the calcs!!! (damn stupid mistakes!!! :b: ) I'm pretty sure the V6 Pacemaker extractors are tuned length too.

    Exhaust Systems and Extractors

Whats wrong with the calcs!!! Excuse me if they are wrong, i'm no mathematician!!! :) I didn't really take friction and stuff into account, because im not that smart!!! I still think you should get the SC headers, because i can guarentee that you will end up cranking the boost after a...

    Paint chip! Help!!

Whoa!!! 7-10mm....thats more like a chunk!!! Don't bother with a chipstick if it is that big!!!

    Paint chip! Help!!

Touch up paint is pretty tricky to use, and can spoil the paintwork even more if you stuff it up. I'd try and get hold of a turtle wax chipstick, which is like a crayon. It wont look 100% up close, but it will at least stop rust from developing. And if you don't like it you can rid of it.

    engine playing up

Check your plugs and leads. My VT used to nearly stall when it was under load, especially when accelerating from low revs. But then i changed my plugs and leads, so now it's all good!!! ;)

    Ecotec Problems....

Mine ticks a little bit, but i can only hear it when i stick my head out the window and rev it slowly when in neutral. Apparently the extractors can make this kind of ticking noise at the point where the exhaust gases exit the primaries and go into the collectors.

    Exhaust Systems and Extractors

The system i have in for my ecotech V6 is..... Pacemaker extractors, with 1.5" primaries and 2" collectors. A 2.5" fully mandrel bent mild steel exhaust with a mercury muffler positioned halfway. And a modified stock cat converter, so that the exit hole is 2.5 inches. All this costed me...

    VS Performance

Do not bother getting a larger throttle body unless you are spinning some serious power in the vicinity of 150rwkw, where it will become a restriction. (unless it is hell cheap!!!) 1. Get some pacemaker extractors. 2. Then Yella Terra 1.8:1 high ratio roller rockers for ~$600 or FIT 1.9:1...

    Spark plug gap???

hmmm.... Well i've got some NGK Iridium plugs, and some MSD 8.5mm superconductor leads on order, and the gap on the Iridiums are 1.5mm. Is that gap fine for this kind of setup??? Will the extra "spark" require a different gap??
  33. TheLucksta

    Spark plug gap???

Does anyone know what the recommended spark plug gap is for the V6???
  34. TheLucksta

    transmission slipping??

I'm suffering something very similar at the moment. However, it could also possibly be caused from bad plugs and leads which will cause the engine to miss a bit when under load. (i have to drive around like a granny untill i can get hold of some. :( )

    Painting stuff

Ok... I think this has already been brought up in another thread, but here goes anyway.... BRAKE CALIPERS. 1. Firstly go out and buy some VHT Brake caliper spray paint. 2. Park car in workshop, and make sure that the handbrake is NOT on. 2. Jack up car, and PUT IT ON BLOCKS. 3. Remove...

    what would you do?

Yeah... but if he lashes out first, then you have every right to lash out right back at him. Basically he has know what it is like to get what he gives. P.S. I do fighting as a sport, so I would call it "using my qualifications to solve the problem"... not violence, which is more "animalistic". :D
  37. TheLucksta

    what would you do?

I'd get more satisfaction from beating someone to oblivion with my bare hands.... and it's a more legal too, if the other person hits you first!!! :D
  38. TheLucksta

    what would you do?

I would lay a reverse roundhouse kick to the side of his head, followed by a triple combo jab-cross-uppercut, followed by an axe kick right in the middle of his face!!! K.O.!!! ;)

    200Kw

Rule of thumb... 200kw at the fly is about 200hp at the wheels. So thats about 150rwkw's.

    Cold Air Induction Kits

I've got an aunger CAI on my VT V6 for $237, and it works a treat!!! :D Although i havent got any power figures to back it up with right now, it does definantly feel alot smoother and more responsive. Although the aunger CAI took a bit of reshaping just to get the damn thing to fit properly :b...
