It's no different to politics in any country. Neither is fit for office, but you have to pick the least **** one lol.

Always amazes me that we mostly only get two shite choices. A cynical person might suggest that it’s by design as it’s basically corporate sponsorship money that puts politicians in power so they hardly want someone competent in power.

They want people who are easily manipulated and incompetent in power so corporations can keep them under thumb.

This is our big political story for the day,

Problem is, last week Winny announced the toilet police so I'm not sure we are going to have many under paid/over worked cops left to tackle regular crime. Word is, cops are leaving in droves to go work in Aussie for better money.

We know someone who has wanted to be a cop for years, they made her jump through a lot of hoops but she passed and was ready to go off to police college but after all the crap at the start of the year with the cops she's put her application on hold.

Apply to VicPol, we're loosing cops left, right and centre. I believe the dropped the entrance requirements recently in an effort to get more cadets.

Everybody to get $300 'help' with paying their electricity bill. :)
That's about 82c per day. :(
What a waste of our tax money that we pay.
Oh well, it will help with the 'cost of living' crisis.
Going to look at buying an EV next week, as it just got cheaper to run by 82c per day .o_O
Winner, winner, chicken dinner nugget.

At least there are some politicians who speak the truth. You won’t find them in the major parties though.

People need to break down their vote and choose candidates outside the major parties and at least try to use the preferential voting system to their advantage.

Old man used to say to vote for the opposing member, that way it stops any political monopoly in that seat and getting too comfortable ignoring what needs to be done.

A lot more people do seem to be using the preferential voting system to their advantage, which is a good thing. The duopoly needs to be broken and last election got us closer to that than ever before.

Both major parties went backwards in primary votes, which is a positive for democracy and for forcing the duopoly to at least consider the people who vote for them.

Both major parties though are working together to make it harder for independents to get up in future elections. The duopoly are on a unity ticket when it comes to protecting themselves.
