What is the widest wheel size that I can fit into My VZ

I know this is a old thread but I found it when i was looking and wanted to update for anyone else looking at wheels/tyres. I just fitted my Walkys up to a VZ SS Thunder. The VZ had XYZ coilovers currently and the adjustable springs 99% of vz ute packages come with. With just adjusting height...

    VZ SS Thunder - WILDVZ

So we had a great win for a Sunday! Rears fit with about 2cm clearance to the guard, no trimming of anything and a bit of camber tucks the top into the guard, which on full compression looks to either just kiss the tire or just miss it! So for all wondering, this is a VZ SS Thunder, with a...

    VZ SS Thunder - WILDVZ

Yeah man, the lip is cnc'd and rear is staggered much like the VE setup, but possibly slightly smaller as I belive a 10" rim fits the ve rears, where my rears are a 9.5" rim. These are the rears with a +43 offset Compared to the front with a +45 offset Just need to find out if they fit! If...

    Driveshaft shop IRS 9 inch

Better off looking local mate. Castlemaine rod shop do the 9" diff with gears and trutrac, 31 spline axles and willwood 290mm or 320mm rotors calipers and new hubs for 6k. Another good option is Mcdonalds bros mates, and IIRC thier kit was around 8k!

Lowered VZ Clubby, Maximum rear tyre width?

I'll let you know when I get to my rears mate. It may be different as I've heard the utes have wider wells due to the shocks being under the tray compared to the sedans, something to keep in mind! I have 275/30/r20's to test fit tomorrow or next weekend!

    VZ SS Thunder - WILDVZ

Had a crack today and got the fronts in! Had to trim the inner guard and raise the coilovers slightly as i went from a 30 sidewall to a 35, but i wanted slightly more tyre for a bit better ride quality and it will now match as close as can be to the 275's on the back to keep the rolling dia the...

Twin 3" mate! Not too droney either, but It hangs quite low which is my only gripe! However the extractors, cats and exhaust was shipped to door for like $1300!

    VZ SS Thunder - WILDVZ

Thanks mate! Figured it would be good to capture the build, as there are a decent amount of things in the works! They were on exchange, so I popped the climate part, steering wheel controls, pwr switch, window switches, and the cluster out and sent them all down. For the shifter I just...

    VZ SS Thunder - WILDVZ

Hey everyone and welcome to my Build thread. Long time lurker, first time poster! Quick backstory of how the Thunder came to be: I started back in the day with a VS Equipe, thinking it was the ducks nuts! Since then, I went through a few more Holdens, a VX S pac from VicPol. I was getting...

    VZ SS L98 Ute

Yeah mate! It will have L98 for the engine code also. You'll also find the hints for a thunder are the pbr brakes in the front, leather seats will be standard, along with climate control over the turn style A/C knobs and of course the twin hump hardlid. Underneath the hardlid you should also...

    VZ SS L98 Ute

Hey mate, yeah check the vin, and it should be a 17 digit number. Number 8 should be a H meaning it has the L98, and if confirmed there, then it's a Thunder, as no vz ss utes had the L98 apart from Thunders
